|Title||FANCY SHAWL DANCER # 3/50|
|Dimensions||H-22 W-19 D-9 inches|
Depiction of a fancy shawl dancer in mid-twirl. Her arms are raised and her fringed shawl is fully extended. Her right foot is on the "ground" and her left foot is raised. The bronze is finished with a goldish-brown patina and mounted on a base of marble and wood that swivels.
This piece received the first-ever "Rendezvous Legacy Award" at the 2003 Western Rendezvous of Art show in Helena. The subject of the bronze is a young Apache dancer that the artist photographed at the Council Tree Powwow in Delta, Colorado, in the fall of 2002. Per the artist: "She was cast at Madd Castings in Berhoud, Co. I use the foundry for metal only. The waxes and finish work were done by independent artisans in Loveland."
