This is part of a set of 21 woodblock prints collectively entitled The History of Montana in Woodcut. These were done as a thesis for a degree in applied arts at Montana State College, Bozeman, 1935. Marjory Geiseker Goering created them to illustrate how early pioneers viewed the world and how events would have looked back then.
