Notes 'The Range Father' features a wild stallion chasing down a wolf. The lobo runs flat out with his tail between his legs in a desperate attempt to escape the steed, who is protecting his brood. Russell held the wild horse in great regard, and he deplored the practice of culling vast numbers of wild horses from the plains.
