Notes Two page illustrated letter. Page 1 - "Dear Friend, Well I am going to write and draws to you all. Thank you very much for new table cloth. we are proud it. Bring big big big heavy army rifle and of next month you come here, have good vacation for hunting elk [small picture of elk] and [picture of a bear]. At the top of the page are several small sketches of military depictions.

Page 2 begins "Did you see John Hyde and his old brother in war[.] Some here people went there also Buddy Clarke is in Fort Lawton Train away, say would give one job but I am afraid of sick from coast fog damp, get cough[.] I heard the people work get pneumonia. I receivd letter from school def. supt told me that I would come to vancouver & work many war[.] Sanding plywood near Portland Oregon. For next week Ill go there along. I am tired of drift much snow here 1/2 ration gasoline, trap you all people cars can't drive too far[.] Oct 24 I drove trouble with Maurie and Joyce with to Great Falls[.] I will write you again[.] Sincerely yours John L Clarke." At the bottom of the drawing is a sketch of a car and flat tire.
