Notes This is also known as a flint pouch, one struck the flint with the iron bar at the bottom to achieve a spark. Brass handle at top and curved steel piece at bottom attached with brass band. The flap has brass corners - which are stylized bats (symbol of happiness in northern China). Brass character in the center of the flap is Fu (happiness). The pouch contains a small piece of flint and would have also contained a bit of tinder.
