Object Name Drawing
Artist Russell, Charles M. (1864-1926)
Dimensions H-11.5 W-14 inches
Medium Ink/Paper
Date 1899
Notes One of two original sketches executed in the book "Pen Sketches." This drawing is an original pen & ink sketch depicting a back view of two men walking arm in arm. They appear to be having a difficult time standing up, as if drunk. The one on the right carries a cane. The other is Russell ( the tip of an assumption sash sticks out from beneath his jacket.) A poem, written in ink, at the bottom of the page reads: "I hope when you Look / at this sketch it will not your modesty shock / For we've both been there many a time / when we roomed in the Canary Block".
