Notes Bronze chinese incense burner. Wide mouth jar shape burner is held up on the backs of three men dressed in traditional clothing and hair treatment. The body of the jar has in high relief birds, flowering vines, berries. Two handles are formed by griffins-attached by their front feet near the top of jar. They have closed mouths, flapping ears and double spiked tails. The top of the burner has a raised pierced portion topped by another griffin holding a ball in it upraised front left foot and has an open mouth for incense to escape.
