Notes This painting depicts three expressionistic circles scraped over a ground that shows the tooth of the canvas and worked layers of paint. To the left is a vertical brushstroke of veridian green while along the bottom of the painting lies a horizontal brushstroke of a lighter green with other colors pushed into it. In the upper right corner there is a small passage of black and gray, with the black line being angled around a small gray area. These forms have been etched into the fiber of the canvas with thin scratches that cut down to the fabric and thin paint dragged over the texture of the fabric. The colors are either dull or unpleasant, acidic tones and earthy scratchings- the compromise being the topmost circle that is a pleasant radiant yellow with few other yellow accents in the picture. The bottom two circles could almost be united into one, both are a brown purple color with white accents and nestled so tightly they seem share the same space.
