An illustration of a standing American Indian holding a buffalo robe in his left hand. He is standing in front of a teepee with a young Indian woman waling in front carrying a pail. The ground of the painting is predominantly light blue and the portrait of the Indian is positioned in the center. The man is facing the proper left of the frame and in slight profile. He is depicted with long black hair, two long braids down each side and two feathers positioned in the back of his head. He is wearing shell earrings and a bone choker with a shell pendant attached to the front center. He has a strap that reaches across his chest and around to his side - possibly a quiver? The warrior is also depicted wearing a loin cloth that is blue in color with geometric designs down the front and a waistband with geometric designs also. In addition to the loin cloth he is also wearing leggings, possibly wool - the leggings are red in color with a white stripe down the side with geometric designs. He is also wearing mocassins which appear to be white in color with blue beadwork. His right arm is bent with his hand resting against his knife sheath and his left arm is at his side while he is holding a buffalo robe with his left hand. Depicted in the background is a teepee with a woman standing in the front holidng a bucket in her hand.
