Notes Drawing on an old Western Union Telegram. Drawn in the center of the telegram is an image of a stylized horse and rider. The horse is colored bright yellow with a small red circle on each knee and two on his back hind leg. Down the side of the horses face and neck is a stylized arrow - the arrow is painted red and gray. There is a black horse blanket on the back of the horse, which the rider is sitting on. The body of the rider is very stylized, much like the horse. The body of the rider is solid red and he is wearing a headdress, which has a blue and red band at the bottom, white feather with black tips are attached to the bottom bands. Attached to the tip of each feather is a small red feather. The Indian is holding a war ax in his proper right hand and a spear in his proper left hand. In the background are three small dome shapes, each painted green with two red circles. Above the dome shapes is a large yellow circle.

The piece is on 1900 Western Union Original Ledger Paper.

The Sun represents Creator as giver of light, warmth and light for the plants, animals, ans people of the earth. The green rolling hills symbol is a Blackfeet symbol for the high plains, the the circles for the stars.

The rider is wearing a Blackfeet Straight Up headress and has a spear for battle. The Horse has medicine paint as a heartline and the joints of the legs are marked with medicine paint for protection in battle. The 2 red circles on the back of the horse are to protect the internal organs in battle.
