Dimensions H-11.125 W-18.25 inches

Notes This watercolor shows two Indians atop a formation of flat stones. One scours the vast horizon, perhaps searching for signs of game to hunt, while his partner sits placidly holding a pipe. Here Russell again utilizes the "pure" transparent watercolor, but with a hint of opaque white for highlights. Far below in the distance, Russell has left an unfinished, ghostly pencil sketch of a group of indiscernible figures. They appear to be coming toward the watchers. Are they part of the tribe? Are they game animals? It is left unclear by the artist.
