This hat was given to John Fogarty a native of Great Falls, in 1932 by his fans in Montana. He was a famous Irish Tenor known as "The Montana Minstrel." The presentation was made on a national broadcast of NBC radio.
Light brown felt cowboy hat with rounded crown. The front of the crown bears a painting of two horses-one white and one brown - by O.C. Seltzer. On the brim, directly beneath the horses is a painting of the state seal. The crown is covered with painted depictions of Montana brands
