Notes 1905 brown sateen maternity dress with beige lace trim worn in Wibaux, MT. The dress has a high neck with beige lace trim around the top and bottom egde of the collar; there are multiple vertical pleats that run across the surface of the neck and hooks in the back with two hook and eyes. The collar of the dress is quite wide and hangs across the back of the shoulder blades and two wide strips (lappets) hang over each shoulder (one on each side). The collar is trimed with wide beige lace that has a repeating floral design. In addition to the lace lining along the edge there is addition trim attached to the surface, which is also beige in color and has a delicate floral design embroidered through the center of the ground. The back of the collar (the portion that covers the back of the shoulder blades) has three large scallopes. The end of each lappet is rounded. Across the chest is a panel iwth numerous gathers (at the top only) with two horizontal velvet strips. Each sleeve has a wide vertical strip down the upper arm followed by a horizontal strip just above the elbow. The sleeve flares out twice, just below the elbow and also has lace trim, the same which is used on the collar. The very end of the sleeve is lined with lace trim. The bottom of the dress is lined with a wide strip of black velvet.
