Wolle first visited Bannack in the summer of 1951 (see "MT Pay Dirt" p. 50+) while working on her book, "The Bonanza Trail" (U of Indiana Press, 1953). This image does not appear in "The Bonanza Trail" but it was used in "Montana Pay Dirt: A Guide to the Mining Camps of the Treasure State."
Depiction of a row of delapidated log and frame buildings along a dirt "street." The church building is on the left. The buildings are surrounded by sagebrush and there are large deciduous trees behind the buildings on the right edge, and bare hill tops in the background.
