Two golden carp can mean domestic happiness, partnership, abundance, fertility, renewal or tenacity. It could also mean good luck. Koi red or black means success or wealth. Eels have meaning also.

This object is a wooden pipe bowl, supported from the bottom by two goldfish carved in relief. Pipe bowl is dome shaped with the top and center burned away through use. The wood is hard and a light blonde color. The outside eyes of the fish are brass.
